Creating a blog and posting weekly was quite an entertaining experience. It helped me to develop my technological abilities by learning how to post gifs, videos and hypertexts. I chose a topic which was quite unknown for me, and searching/investigating photography helped me to gain knowledge. I was interested in photography but I never had the time to get started, so this blog was the perfect opportunity to learn more about it.  1st blog entry:  Introduction to photography http://focusthroughthelens.blogspot.com.es/2017/09/photography-1st-blog-entry.html Best photography work in the last 6 months http://focusthroughthelens.blogspot.com.es/2017/10/photographies-have-evolved-throughout.html Photographers in social media http://focusthroughthelens.blogspot.com.es/2017/10/photographers-in-social-media.html 4th blog entry:  Damon Winter http://focusthroughthelens.blogspot.com.es/2017/10/4th-entry-damon-winter.html Recommended webpages http://focusthrought...

BLOGGING

MY BLOG POSTS 1.  PHOTOGRAPHY AND ME 2.  THE ART OF OBSERVATION 3.  WHERE TO START 4.  SEBASTIÃO  SALGADO 5.  PHOTOGRAPHY IN SOCIAL MEDIA 6.  2017 MASTERPIECES MY EXPERIENCE BLOGGING This was my first time blogging, so this experience was new to me. I had an idea of what it could be like, and even though some things were exactly like I expected them, some others have surprised me, both in a good and in a bad way.  I honestly never liked the idea of having a blog. I enjoy reading them, but I was never tented ti create one myself. This experience has taught me that, even though it does require a lot of work, it is something I can enjoy. From the moment I started to be comfortable with this format, posting regularly became much easier, and I even wanted this project to be longer. I know I'm probably never going to create another blog, but in case I do, I am happy to know that I actually like this format more than I expected...

My blogging experience

1. 'We keep this love in a photograph' MY EXPERIENCE BLOGGING: Although I had been on blogger before (I have a personal blog of reflexions and own texts about life...etc), this experience blogging during the last six, seven weeks has given me some knowledge I did not know before. After this time, i have learned to introduce links with other names (hypertext), videos and change the design of the blog. Also, it has made me improve in searching in different sources and verifying the credibility of the content. We have got used to be constant and punctual in publishing our posts, too. Moreover, it has been a challenge for me to learn more and more every week about the photography world and try to shape it in an entertaining way. To be added, we have worked hard on taking decisions in group and organizing the tasks, which is a very important aspect for any job in the journalist ground. In conclusion, I have learned a lot related to technological...

The art of blogging   Outstanding photos 2017 Social media for photographers Steve Mccurry, famous photographer Useful tools for photography and editing El buitre africano Why I´m in love with photography Blogging is undoubtedly one of the activities which one never imagines the hard work it requires.  Although it is super fun, you must master your topic as you have to take care of your content along with creativity to reach people´s interest. You also need to be as constant as pacient.  Followers are gained from regular and interesting entries but they are not gained neither fast,  nor easy.   I believe the key to success lies in enjoying your work. When one does what he or she loves, the result will always positive. - Ana Sofía Piña de los Reyes

Photography... Through the Lens Blog Post I: Personal Connection Blog Post II: Case study Blog Post III: Online sources and references Blog Post IV: Prominent Figure Blog Post V: Social media coverage  Blog Post VI: Best work go the year My experience with blogging was great, so much i am planning on starting my own personal blog. It showed me how important it is to be constant and relevant. As someone once said, nobody cares about what you do, so its my job to make people care and show interest on whatever I am writing. Writing about different topics helped me have a broader knowledge of the topic, I learned more about  something I am really passionate. The hardest thing, in my opinion, was to be continuous. If the reader is engaged in your writing, they will expect more of it. The writer has to maintain some kind of order in their posting for the reader to stay. For example each Friday night, the reader expects a new blog post from mysel...

2017 MASTERPIECES

NEW MASTERPIECES Every day, the world is filled with thousands of new pictures. Some of them stand out from the rest because of their quality, originality, message, etc. Sometimes it's just a small element that makes them different, but being able to find that special characteristic while taking a photo is what makes great photographers gain their reputation.  Taking a picture is quite simple, but taking and outstanding and breath taking photo is not an easy task, and that's when the distinction between amateur and professional photographer is made. Here are some examples of phenomenal images, all of them taken in the last few months. 1. COLIMA VOLCANO This photography of a lighting hitting an erupting volcano received the credit deserved when it was selected the winner of the National Geographic travel photography contest . It was taken by the Mexican  Sergio Tapiro Velasco 2. SHOOTING STAR This shooting star traveling over Belgium was ...

Best photography work in the last 6 months

Imagen
Photographies have evolved throughout the years into an art full of beauty. Nowadays the profession of photographer has evolved into a very complex work, where you have to make sure that you're original to stand out. Some pictures have a specific quality which makes them special due to the lightning, situation or type of lens. Today I'm subjectively selecting the ones that need more recognition and have been taken over the last six months. Trentino/Going green - Simone Bravante I consider that Simone Bravante's photographies are the most outstanding ones taken in the last six months. He loves taking pics in the outdoors and play with perspectives. This profesional photograph is very diverse, though the pics I've chosen from him have similar aesthetics as they both form part of the same gallery. Both pictures contain dull tones of green and blue, which adds a nostalgic quality to his work.  I've chosen another pic from him from one of his most...

Photography 2017

One of the most recognized photography competitions in the world is the Sony Awards , here are some of the 2017 winning pictures: The picture shows an old Chinese man at an early hour throwing his fishing net. The image has a beuatiful contrast between the color of the sky and the shadow of the objects in front.   Camilo Diaz shot this picture of the Colombian water polo team, i feel it's the perfect moment captured. One man with fighting with everything to score a goal.  Jelena Jankovich captured the image of these friends taking a selfie in a concert. It's amazing how she caught the moment where you can clearly recognize their face in the crowd. I am a big fan of scenery pictures. You can see the sun shine through the clouds and illuminate the trees. Also that one person standing at the top of the rock has a bigger meaning. In this image, Jan-Ken-Pon, captures "rocks, paper, scissors" the children's game with a much dee...

Outstanding photos 2017 1. By Sr. Zeta (instagram) 2. By:  Evgeniya (instagram) 3. By: Anna Linares, instagram ->  Bannanitas 4. By: Sr. Zeta Technology has evolved at a point in which media is full of talented people´s works and it would be barely impossible to chose one photo as "The best" over the hundreds of thousand photos there are.  I have some favourite artists, therefore I find some of their photos extremely touching: 1. The first photo, which is taken by Sr. Zeta, reflects aesthetics. They, the photographer and the model, played with her natural beauty along with the reflections of a natural light passing through some kind of blinds, managing to enlighten her eye.  2. The next three photos is a burst of photos that capture the beauty of nature in some forest mushrooms. The lights and definition Evgeniya captures are perfect.  3. Ana Linares reaches fame with this amazing photo with her dog in which sh...

Photographers in social media

Imagen
Nowadays, there are several social media platforms related to photography. People seem to have interest in taking pictures of themselves and showing them to the world. An Instagram profile can tell a lot about you, and people have become more interested in sharing their most special moments through visuals instead of writing them. Dave Yoder is a photographer specialized in taking really original photos and explaining them. No wonder he has a contract with National Geographic, because every photo he takes effectively portrays the atmosphere of the place. They often involve people, and they have an unique quality that differs this photographer from the rest. He uses his Instagram profile to post his favorite shots taken by National Geographic’s demand. Victoria Siemer is an artist quite active in social media, specially instagram and Twitter (Though this last one is also used for leisure). She likes taking photos using elements that could alter them such as smok...

Social Media on Photography

Imagen
Social media has become a universal platform to inform and update the life of others. Nowadays, everyone and anything that wants to get noticed has to have social media. An Instagram to share pictures of what they do or a Twitter to provide a more personal experience. Through hashtags and key words anyone can discover a variety of pages that will be useful and interesting for the certain topic they are searching. These are some of my favorite people's social media on the art of photography: Digital Camera World "Digital Camera World is the home of digital photography in print and online. Visit us for all the latest photography news, tips, tutorials and camera reviews." That is the description of their twitter, where you can find a variety of posts and links to get better in photography. Their social media is up to date on the most recent technology and techniques, they share their knowledge to the public. Personally, I use it a source of knowledge, they o...

PHOTOGRAPHY IN SOCIAL MEDIA

Imagen
PHOTOGRAPHY IN SOCIAL MEDIA There's probably nothing in this world that doesn't have content or isn't even mentioned on the Internet. Nowadays, social media is huge form of communication where everyone can share their content, and it wasn't gonna be any different with photography.                               Different examples of social  media that involve pictures Social media is, in some cases, the best place to spread your own work. That is exactly photography's case. Getting to be known is hard, and social media platforms make that path much easier, which explains why professionals share their work with the world through them. Here are some examples of the spread of photography through social media: MATTJKOMO Matt Komo is a well-known photographer on  Instagram . He posts there his photos and videos, in which he plays with angles and lighting. He has o...
