Photography 2017

One of the most recognized photography competitions in the world is the Sony Awards, here are some of the 2017 winning pictures:




The picture shows an old Chinese man at an early hour throwing his fishing net. The image has a beuatiful contrast between the color of the sky and the shadow of the objects in front.  



Camilo Diaz shot this picture of the Colombian water polo team, i feel it's the perfect moment captured. One man with fighting with everything to score a goal. 


Jelena Jankovich captured the image of these friends taking a selfie in a concert. It's amazing how she caught the moment where you can clearly recognize their face in the crowd.


I am a big fan of scenery pictures. You can see the sun shine through the clouds and illuminate the trees. Also that one person standing at the top of the rock has a bigger meaning.




In this image, Jan-Ken-Pon, captures "rocks, paper, scissors" the children's game with a much deeper meaning. She tries to depict that outcomes come from luck or fate. 


The Spanish photographer shot this image in Honduras, one of the most dangerous countries of America and the world. I chose this picture because it has a deep meaning, the daily struggle of Honduran people with a daily routine in order to stay alive.

SEBASTIÃO SALGADO Portrait of Sebastião Salgado Sebastião Salgado  (1944) was a Brazilian    economist who took his first picture at the age  of 26.  He is one of the most respected photojournalists in the contemporary world. The Falling Man

9.11.01 "the falling man" by Richard Drew On the terrible and disastrous day the world trade center towers fell, Richard Drew was able to capture a still moment. Putting behind the catastrophe that had just happened, he took a simple yet complex photo. A man seconds before his death, free falling into fatality and in complete control of his mind. The picture went viral, it was all over the newspapers and magazines, besides the picture of the explosion the media showed this image, the falling man. Drew knew this was an artistic masterpiece with so much more meaning behind it, yet he could not believe how perfect the shot ended. Funny story, Richard Drew did not know about the picture until later, when he saw the photo sequence.
