NEW MASTERPIECES


Every day, the world is filled with thousands of new pictures. Some of them stand out from the rest because of their quality, originality, message, etc. Sometimes it's just a small element that makes them different, but being able to find that special characteristic while taking a photo is what makes great photographers gain their reputation. 

Taking a picture is quite simple, but taking and outstanding and breath taking photo is not an easy task, and that's when the distinction between amateur and professional photographer is made.

Here are some examples of phenomenal images, all of them taken in the last few months.


1. COLIMA VOLCANO


This photography of a lighting hitting an erupting volcano received the credit deserved when it was selected the winner of the National Geographic travel photography contest. It was taken by the Mexican Sergio Tapiro Velasco


2. SHOOTING STAR


 This shooting star traveling over Belgium was captured by the cameras destined to photography meteorites. It is a more advanced technology but still amazes everyone who sees it.

3. MURDER IN TURKEY


This shocking image was taken during the murder of the Russian ambassador in Turkey. It has won the Word Press Photo contest in the year 2017 but the award has caused polemic because some people believe that a photo showing violence shouldn't be the winner of the contest.

 There's a lot of amazing images out there, but these ones stand out for their uniqueness and perfect timing.

SEBASTIÃO SALGADO Portrait of Sebastião Salgado Sebastião Salgado  (1944) was a Brazilian    economist who took his first picture at the age  of 26.  He is one of the most respected photojournalists in the contemporary world. The Falling Man

9.11.01 "the falling man" by Richard Drew On the terrible and disastrous day the world trade center towers fell, Richard Drew was able to capture a still moment. Putting behind the catastrophe that had just happened, he took a simple yet complex photo. A man seconds before his death, free falling into fatality and in complete control of his mind. The picture went viral, it was all over the newspapers and magazines, besides the picture of the explosion the media showed this image, the falling man. Drew knew this was an artistic masterpiece with so much more meaning behind it, yet he could not believe how perfect the shot ended. Funny story, Richard Drew did not know about the picture until later, when he saw the photo sequence.
